During my tenure with Downtown Comics, I organized and ran an annual 24 Hour Comics Day Challenge at one of our retail locations. This was an official event hosted at stores and libraries across the country. The purpose was to bring awareness to the comics art form with artists “competing” to produce a complete 24-page comic book (penciled and inked) in 24 hours. I liked to come up with a theme for each year’s event to work into the design of the promotional materials. Below are examples of some of the pieces I designed over the years including a comic book I put together featuring excerpts from the comics produced by some of the artists who participated in the 2013 event.
