Some of my favorite projects are sadly the ones that never see the light of day. Downtown Comics was a proud supporter of the Naptown Roller Girls roller derby league when I was the creative manager there. NRG once proposed doing a promotional comic book to highlight some of the women in the league. I saw this as a great opportunity to also showcase the talent of local comics artists. The idea was to have different artist/writer teams produce a short story for their assigned Naptown Roller Girl. Unfortunately, for logistical/timing reasons the project never got beyond the concept stage. I’m still proud of this concept cover art I produced for the pitch.
